We Bridge the Gap Between Tradition and Modern Technology in the Construction Industry
CFLab was founded by TU Dresden in 2022 as a nonprofit research and development facility.
Our interdisciplinary team of researchers from the fields of civil engineering, mechanical engineering, computer science, and design explores and develops technologies for the digitalized and highly automated construction of the future.
We aim to harness digitalization to help make the construction and construction machinery industry more competitive and sustainable.
Our “innovation through experimentation” approach means we work with partners across all our key topics to bridge the gap between university research and market-oriented application – the technology readiness level (TRL) gap.

In October 2026, the moment will have arrived: We will move into our new facility in Görlitz. It will serve as a central hub for exchanges, innovation, and collaboration with a focus on the future of the construction industry.
