with it the opportunities for practical research in civil engineering. As of this week, we now have a  <\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Liebherr R 922 crawler excavator with adjustable boom<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> to our research and laboratory construction site. As  <\/span>the key machine on almost every civil engineering site, the excavator is the logical next step in developing and testing innovations where they will later be used: in the real construction process. <span data-ccp-props=\"{}\"> <\/span><\/p><p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Excavators are often the first demonstration objects for digitalisation and automation technologies in the industry. This pioneering role is no coincidence: hardly any other machine combines so many different tasks, interfaces and safety requirements \u2013 ideal conditions for iteratively testing and reliably
